My question involves adoption law for the State of: Tennessee
I went through a very nasty divorce/custody battle. To make a long story short My Ex made things rough on me and our child and systematically turned our child against me(PAS). I never filed police reports for 2 reasons. 1.His new wife has a brother who is a lieutenant at the police department in our city and he(the brother) had already lied and had my boyfriend (now husband) thrown in jail so I figured they would be no help anyway. And 2. I didn't want our son to think I was being mean to Daddy thus proving their point which was that I was the bad person and I was the one causing problems(Stupid huh?)
They used our son to spy on me.They called the school where our son attended and alleged child abuse on my part. I didn't abuse our son so they found that the allegations were unfounded and the school nurse documented it and signed a copy of the incident for me.
There's a lot more but suffice to say that I was in and out of court all the time. We spent $11,000 on legal fees in 1 year. I was broke and broken. Then he wanted to fight for custody again. They were going to have our son testify to God knows what in court. I didn't want our son put through that so after much soul searching I, at their insistence, and to take our son out of the middle, signed away my parental rights.I gave up. Our son was 11 at the time.
Now after 6 years with no contact I suddenly find out on the internet no less that our sweet loving son has been in juvie since he was 14! FELONY CHARGES. Preventable if they had only supervised the children better.
My question now is can I get our son back? Is there anything I can do to reverse this situation reinstate my rights?
Please help!
