I'm speaking in general, but your best bet is to contact the "regulatory agency" in your state or municipality about this. If you don't know what the agency is, contact your local "alderman" or "councilman, and they usually can point you in the right direction, or even complain for you. Why get a lawyer if these guys will do it for free??

I myself had complaints through the years on various issues and found my representatives very helpful. I also wrote to a local paper about "bad service", and when the consumer reporter got on it, I got results.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

My wife was a customer rep the first job after college handling complaints. When people threatened to call the "Public Service Commission" here in NY State, it's considered priority, and the phone company hops on it right away. Better yet, the customer complains directly to the PSC, and the PSC contacts the phone company, and the phone company has to track the complaint, and report back on the resolution. If the customer says he'll get a lawyer, they figure the person is ignorant, and the complaint goes further down the list. If a politiician calls and yells, then it's "top top priority".

In many states, cable companies are approved for franchises by area, and poor service can get the franchise revoked by the regulatory body, or face fines. The phone company gets fined for excessive bad service, and so does the cable company around here, which happens to be Time Warner.

Time Warner has that reputation around my neck of the woods. I'm contracted with Time Warner Northeast Ohio specifically. Thank Goodness the company is only a couple miles down the road. I've returned/exchanged 5 cable boxes within 2 yrs. I'm told by the people who work there that none of the equipment that they have is new it's all refurbished (from the company that used to be here until they bought them out) and that they won't be getting any new boxes anytime soon. I will say that they are really good about giving me a credit for the days that my cable isn't working. You just have to be sure to call and ask for it.

I have many of these issues also. I have lived in this apartment for 8 months and Brighthouse has been out here probably 12 or more times not to mention all the calls. But my question is:
What if the Public Service Commision in your state does not regulate the cable company? ALABAMA btw
Any help would be great. I'm almost failing online classes because I never can get on long enough to get work done.
