Default Collection Agency Harrasment
I have been getting calls from the collection agency that my credit card debt was turned over to for the last 6 months. I finally called back when the agency started harrasing my ex-husband who has no affiliation with the debt. According to the investigator I owe $23,000 and that this a felony. They have called my home and my work continously. I have requested that they do not contact me at work but that has not dissuaded the company in the least. Recently they threatened a co-worker of mines job because she could not get me on the phone right away. I have read the article on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and I know they are way out of bounds. I have reported the company to the FTC. The company is located in Nevada and Pennsylvania and I reside in Colorado. What else can I do?

Find a lawyer in your state who brings FDCPA lawsuits, or bring a lawsuit against them yourself.[/i]
