Landlord is Not Paying the Mortgage

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Tennesse


I just found out my landlord is 2 months behind on the mortgage payment to the house I am renting. I have been in the house for 15 months and just signed a new 12 month lease last month. I have never--never--never been late for any rent payment.

I have all canceled checks and the new lease that I have signed.

Can I sue her for fraud if she does not pay mortage and I just signed a new lease?

What do I do?

You pay your rent! You can talk to Landlord about this but is has no relationship to your lease unless house is foreclosed on.

Panther-

I am not trying to be a smart azz---but what do we do if she goes under foreclosure and we still have 8 months left on lease?

Will the lien holder of property {THE Bank) honor our lease?

If she foreclosure on house do I as a renter have any rights with a good lease?

Read through these threads there are many renters in same sitaution. However until the Landlord agrees to terminate lease or house changes hands you must pay rent or face eviction
