Tax Refunds and Bankruptcy

Will a trustee take my income tax return for 2005? I have a friend who had her taxes taken last year but she had to sign a form and got a letter back from the BK judge stating that she had to send her return to the trustee. My case was declared a no asset and my Chapter 7 was discharged on 12/17 and closed 12/20.

My attorney told me not to worry about it because the trustee would've kept the case 'open' had she intended to take the taxes and I would've received a letter from the judge.

Am I being overly paranoid since the case is closed?

I would call it "understandable concern" as opposed to paranoia; I would tend to agree with your lawyer.
