Do Police Have to Show Me a Copy of Video Evidence if I Ask to See It

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania.


I was charged with criminal mischief for causing damage to a door at my university. I was told that there was video evidence incriminating me. However, when I asked to see this evidence I was flat out refused. This seems kind of weird, I would think I have that right available to me...I think the cop is trying to take advantage of me because I'm only 18 so he believes I'm ignorant with the law. Can they legally deny me this request?

You do not have a "right" to see the evidence until trial. They can CHOOSE to show it to you before that, but they are under no legal obligation to do so.
