My question involves traffic court in the State of: Texas
My boyfriend was arrested a few days ago when he was pulled over in a nearby town for a warrant. He had no idea why since he had never gotten a ticket in that town. He eventually found out there was a ticket with four citations (no registration, driving without insurance, etc.) under his name but for a different car and it was signed with a signature that looked nothing like his. He remembered losing his license about a year ago which is when the ticket was issued and told the judge about this, but she said the signature on the ticket looked the same as the one on his license to her. He pled not guilty and has a court date on the 31st. It gets worse. When he was bailed and told me about this, I recalled one of his friends had driven the model and color car that was on that ticket. Through others we found out that guy had used had taken his license one time to use at a bar since he didn't have one because it had been revoked following a DWI (go figure) which is the same day he used the citation. We cannot figure out any way to prove this though and cannot contact this guy ourselves since someone told him about my boyfriend's arrest. Is it worth hiring an attorney?
