Default Debt Collection - Summons Answered

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of Washington: I was served a summons but noticed the debt was past the SOL so I sent an ANSWER and counterclaim. Since the lawyer never filed (over a month now) How do I proceed to get the lawyer off me? I WANT to pay what I owe but do not want to pay what the lawyer says. Cause it is almost triple!!! If I contact the CA now I think they will re-start the SOL. Any ideas??

If you want to try to negotiate a settlement, contact the lawyer and start negotiating. You don't have to admit that the debt is valid to negotiate.

If it were me, I would claim the SOL and leave it at that.
