Denied Unemployment Benefits / Appeals Hearing

I reside in the state of California. After being employed for three months I became ill because of Hazordous conditions on the site I was working on (building demolition). I contacted my site supervisor on a daily basis keeping him updated of my flu/Bronchitis conditions for the time frame of one week, and on my final day I told him I would be back on monday. V.P. left a message sunday night which I responded with calls and emails and I was ignored. I was told to get doctors cleareance before returning. With a $1264 deductible and a $300-$400 doctors checkup estimate I could not afford it. I recieved a letter that stated I had abandoned my job and called a liar for the week of this sickness thus terminated. How can I proceed into Appeals court?

The only thing you can do during the appeal is to tell the truth as you know it. It will be up to the "state" to decide whether to grant benefits.
