    Default Ending Guardianship

My question involves guardianship in the State of: Kentucky. I was 17 and got preagnant. My parents and I decided that it would be in my daughters best interest to give some friends of my parents guardianship of my daughter. They have had guardianship for four years now. I also have another child who is 1 and I am realizing what I missed out on. They have always let us come visit at anytime although with another child I am busy, so I have only visited him 3 times this past year. I know that I have made some bad decisions but what are my chances of bringing her home? I waived my right so that I didn't have to show up for court. The papers say that they have guardianship and custody of said child. so which is it? They will fight in court I know this for sure so it wont be easy

We really can't speak to your chances of bringing your child home.

Are you employed? Providing well for your youngest? No mental problems? Healthy? Those will certainly work in your favor, but are by no means a guarantee.

Retain counsel and fight for your daughter.

I am not working and on state assistance just untill I get out of college, three years left. I live with my father and he helps with my youngest. I do have a mental disability and was hospitalized two times before I tiurned 18. Since I was not 18 does this matter? I am on medication and it is helping. would they be able to contact my psycologist for the courts? I think all these reports should be private.

The court disagrees. Your health and mental stability very much matter to the court when it comes to matters of custody, as does your ability to provide properly for your child.

The court looks at the best interests of the child above everything else.
