    Default Two Different State Licenses

My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Hawaii and California. I currently have Residences and businesses in both the State of Hawaii and California. I only have a valid Hawaii license but I understand that I should have a California license when I am in California. I am concerned that if I get a California license I would need to give up the Hawaii license and then I would have a problem when I am in Hawaii. Is it possible to have two licenses?

    last question first: no.

whichever state is your claimed residence is where you need to have the license from.

where do you pay state taxes to? In your business incorporation of licensing; where do you claim residency?

Well I currently hold licenses in Hawaii and California. If you apply for a California license and ask them to transfer your license from Hawaii, the California DMV will just punch a hole in the Hawaii license and send you a California license in the mail. All you have to do after this request for a duplicate Hawaii driver's license, and you have two licenses.

Well ... there is the little matter of California informing Hawaii that the license has been surrendered to California.
