What Does Chambers Works Mean

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

What does it mean when it is listed under the cases,,,,,,,,,,,,chambers work? There was a trial and the person was found guilty by the jury. There is a scheduled date for sentencing (not for another month),,,,,,,,but on the court website there was something called chambers work a couple of weeks ago. The person who is being sentenced is in custody and never went to the courts a couple of weeks ago on that date where it said chambers work. Anyone know what that means?

Chambers work simply means behind the scenes work, out of public view, this could include a pre-sentence investigation etc.
