Angry Can I Be Sent to Collections Even Though I Have Been Making Payments on the Account
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Hawaii

Yes, if you are not paying as agreed, they can send you to collections. There is a widespread urban legend that if you are paying a dollar a month, they cannot send you to collections. That is incorrect. If the agreement says you are to pay a given amount, and you do not pay it, you are in default.
