Default Small Claims: Out of State Company

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Pennsylvania

    Hi all,

I have a question regarding filing a small claimns suit against an out of state company. I want to sue a collector fom the state of New York. I live in Pennsylvania. According to the Pennsylvania state business search web site, the company is registered in Pennsylvania but no address is provided.

Can I sue an out of state company if they have a registered agent in my state?

Yes, but I would avoid small claims. SCC has been very unfriendly to consumers in the past, and the judges at the federal level are more consumer friendly. If you cannot do it yourself, contact an attorney.
