    Default NFL Games Copyright

What is the legal justification of the NFL refusing to share its old games in entirety with sport channel? If they don't want to that is fine, but I thought there is a law against sharing 80-70s NFL classics taped on vHS. I don't see how this hurts the NFL if people want to offer this to the public.

The legal justification is that if it's their copyrighted material, they have a legal say in how it's distributed, if at all.

It might not 'hurt' to share it, but it's their right not to without their written consent.
