Default Using a Name of a Dissolved Enitity

My question involves business law in the state of: Ca

I am starting a new entity. The name I have selected was once used by a now dissolved California Corporation. In my search I came across a few others that use the same name albeit, with minor differences, ( ex. Max's Cafe in Laguna, Max's Royal Bistro in Palo Alto). Each of these businesses were in business at the same time as the now dissolved company. Can I use the name today?
    Thanks for any input

If you want to use the exact name, you need to check to see if somebody owns the name still.
I am not an attorney and any advice is not to be construed as legal advice. You might even want to ignore my advice. Actually, there are plenty of real attorneys that you might want to ignore as well.
