My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
I have recently fell in love with a girl in the Philippines, getting ready to marry her and bring her here. With that said I was trying to find anything in my past that will hold up the process and found a warrant for fraudulent activities in Florida. Warrant was issued 05/24/07. I will admit that back then I was terrible with money. I am thinking it is for a payday loan that was never resolved. I remember the day I went to pay it, cash in hand, the company was boxing everything up because they were sold. I could not pay them or get information on who to pay. So I guess I was irresponsible for not working harder on resolving it. So my question is, other than turning myself in which I do not have time for, is there any other way I can resolve this. I was thinking about getting representation but also cannot afford to get probation since I am supposed to fly to the philippines in Feb to marry. If I am able to contact the company, resolve the loan, and have them drop the charges will that take care of the warrant? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
