Default Bank Account Automatically Closed by Bank

My question involves personal finance in the State of: California

One of the bank branches placed a suspicious activity report with the Loss Prevention Dept. and requested that all my accounts be closed. My husband and I have worked with several branches of the same bank and have always been straight forward about our activity and answered all their prying questions truthfully.

We have never had problems with other branches except for the branch who reported us. Can we file a lawsuit against this one bank branch for discrimination or what we think was revenge because we stood up to the service manager of that branch and criticized the way they operated?

You can file all the lawsuits you want. You can sue them because you don't like the color of the material they picked out for their floors and counters. But suing doesn't automatically translate into winning.

"I think" isn't enough to win a lawsuit, or even to get to trial. You need facts, a legitimate cause of action, and damages. So far you don't seem to be able to articulate any of the above.

More and more banks, especially the bigger banks are using " risk accessments" now and closing accounts. The other problem that I see with Bank of America, WAMU, Wachovia etc recently is EWS. If you have been reported to EWS, they will close your account.

Early Warning Services is a limited liability company owned by Bank of America, BB&T Corporation, JPMorgan Chase, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo. (most reported to chexsystems are also reported to EWS)
