Default Parents Live in Idaho and I Want to Live in Oregon

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Idaho or Oregon.

I am almost 17 and I live in Idaho , but want to move to Oregon and get emancipated. My mom wants to send me to Afganastan to live with my dad, because I don't like to listen to herand I hit her not very long ago. I don't want to go there. and my mom said Idaho does not have an emancipation law. So I don't know what to do.Can you help?

    No.

There is no law that is going to allow you to move anywhere that your parents do not give you permission to move to.

Even if your state did have an emancipation law, "I don't want to move" is not a reason any judge will accept.

    Agreed.

I am guessing you didn't read the emancipation sticky.

    Enjoy Afghanistan.

Can my mom allow me to move to Oregon? and if so, how long would I have to live there before filing for emancipation.
What about the danger of being over in Afganstan. Isn't that enough reason?

You live where ever your parents tell you to live.

Downtown Detroit is dangerous too... no, you can't declare yourself emancipated because of imagined dangers in a place you have never been.

If your mother gives you permission to go to Oregon you may.

However, your chances of being emancipated are somewhere between slim and none. If the only reason you want to go to Oregon is because you think you'll be able to get emancipated there, you're wasting everyone's time.

Besides, if you think it is tough to be emancipated in Idaho... wait until you get to the Middle East.

No, since you are not a resident of Oregon.

I don't think you understand. Emancipation is (1) exceedingly rare; (2) not available in your state (3) not available to you in any other state since you are not a resident of any other state and (4) not available in any state for the reason you offer.
