CPS Ruling on Background Check?

My question involves a background check in the State of: TX

We are both currently seeking jobs, my husband is laid off and I'm looking to re-enter the job force.

We had several CPS cases against us, all which were ruled out. We never even knew what the charges were until they were ruled out, a bunch of nonsense! However, we're concerned that those CPS cases will show up on a background check. My husband has had several interviews and they all but hired him on the spot, he's very well-qualified, then they turned him down. They never said it was due to information obtained in a background check, they never even said they were doing a background check. But we wonder why they were so positive then mysteriously backed off?

We're concerned there's something to do with those CPS investigations that come up in a background check. How can we find out what information is in our background checks, and can we add our own version to it---that it was completely ruled out? Just being investigated is probably enough to scare off a potential employer!

CPS investigations/cases can show up on a background check depending on findings in the cases & according to how thorough of a background check the employer does.

If a child is found not to have been abused or neglected, federal law says that you should not be listed in any place accessible to the general public or to people who do employment or background checks. If you find your name wrongfully listed, you can appeal to have your name removed.

You will need to check with your state's Department of Family and Protective Services to see if the reports/cases are in the central registery of investigated cases of child abuse or neglect and if so, if you can have them removed to where they are not accessible to the general public due to the outcome. (abuse/neglect ruled out)
