My question involves guardianship in the State of: Michigan
I obtained full-legal guardianship of a non-relative minor child this past August. The said Mother, left to run with a carnival, and I went to court to make things legal, as I have had her before. I was granted custody, and the judge told me, and wrote down "visitation is to be as agreed upon between parties." Mother is due back in state in 2 weeks, and has rarley even called throughout this time. I do not know what I should or could do about visitation. I don't want to keep her away from her mother, but want to protect her. Basically this is my question: Can I keep mother away, or on very limited visitation schedule if I want.... and Would this be in my best interests if I want to keep child permanantly.
Mother has already lost 2 previous children in same scenerio before said child was born. I just don't know what other families who are in this situation do for visitation, and don't know what is best.
