Exclamation 16 Year Old and Marriage While Pregnant

My question involves marriage law for the State of: Any?

Ok, I'll try to make this six year story short, my youngest grandson and his fiancee have been dating for about 8 or so months, they do really well together never fight always happy and so forth and really bring a lot of love and luaghter to the family, well back six years ago her dad got killed and her mom gave her up and told her to go live with her grandparents and that she didnt want her around, so she did. Her mom blamed her for her dads death when it was a simple auto accident on the road that he was in. she wasnt present at the time. her mom has told her she didnt love her and care about her and never called her once threw out the six years. Now they just found out that shes pregant and there so excited about it, my grandson has a little girl by his first wife who ran off and left them and signed the kid over to him, and his fiancee has came in and helped him for the last 8months, the little girl calls her mom and loves her to death, shes the only mother figure she ever had, his fiancee saids she loves her and wants to be here for her and their soon to be baby. Well here shortly ago her mom took her back from her grandparents once she found out she was pregant and wont let her have anything to do with my grandson and his little girl anymore, and wont let my grandson come around and saids to his fiancee that she still hates her and my grandson and doesnt care about the baby and them and if they make it or not, now his fiancee is sixteen and they've called the state of GA and there pregant law changed, and he called a place in FL and they said they never knew of any pregant laws of marriage. What states to this day will do it? If he needs anybody to sign he can, his will sign, they want them to be happy and be together, but her mom dont and will not sign. Her mom is only doing it to try to runin their lifes, nothing more. It's heartless if you ask me. We've been praying about it and hoping to find answers, and ive been researching on the net and all i can find is old sites out of date laws. Any advice could help. Anybody know of a county of a state that maybe the judge would understand or take time to listen to them, my grandson would call and they said there willing to travel anywhere in the us to get married. So we all been on a hunt for a place. Hes called FL, GA, and KY and they all said theres have changed, what about Maryland or Oaklahoma? or any other state, they want to get married before she has the baby. Her mom told her last week that she wont be around nobody until she turns 18 and that my grandson wont be aollwed to the doctor visits and wont even be able to go to the moma and daddy preparing for baby classes and wont even get to enter the hospital when she has it. Please somebody help my grandson, this is really tearing him apart. All we can do is pray right now but maybe we can actually get something done legaly to save them before it gets worse. Im sorry i said i was going to keep this short but really to understand it theres a lot more about abuse and stuff involed with his fiancee and her folks........ She just needs to get out of there before they do something to that child or her......... Please Help....

    Thank you for your time.

To the best of my knowledge, the last of the pregnancy loopholes closed with Georgia. She would need parental consent to marry at 16 in every state, and in some states permission of the court.

Even if you can find a state that allows minors to be married without parental permission as long as they're sufficiently uninformed to get pregnant first, don't be too sure that this hypothetical state will allow non-resident pregnant minors to be married within their borders.

There are those of us who feel that allowing kids to be married before they're old enough to drive after dark is ruining their lives. How many of us are still with the person who was their own true love (after a whopping eight months) at the age of 16?

We've searched day and night for weeks now.

Does that maybe suggest to you that the law does not say what you want it to say?

How old is your grandson? How long has she been 16 and how many months is she? Do you see where I am going with this?

Even if statutory rape isn't a factor, he can still face charges if he tries to take her across state lines to get married.

Yea, I see yalls points. But just for the record its badd enough to say now days but i was in the same spot when i was young with his grandmother, same ages and everything, kinda odd, but we got married and still to this day its been wonderful, not saying his is the same but you know what i mean. He talks about her the way I talk about my love, anythings possible if it does or doesnt happen, they both know theres a bigger chance it wont until shes 18 and they know if so they will wait and remind engagged until then even though they cant see each other, i think they said something about camera phones, so he'll get to see videos and pictures of the baby if they dont get to be together until shes 18, i think thats kinda neat though that tech can play a big role in something like this. But lets just say if they found a place that would marry them with proof that shes pregnant, would it be legal to the fullest? Or could her mother come back and have it undone? like when your married is it perfectly legal now days or are there new loopholes in marriages? I understand if theres been lies involed that would interfear with the contract, but im just saying a big IF they found a county that would, then after they come back home, is there anything anybody could do about it, it would only be her mother that would reject it.

    Thanks

Whatever happened back in your day, the fact remains that today there is not a single jurisdiction anywhere in the United States that will allow a non-resident minor teen, pregnant or not, to marry without parental consent, permission of the court, or both, and the sooner you accept that and stop futzing around trying to find something that doesn't exist, the better off everyone concerned will be.
