Default Running a Stop Sign in Georgia

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of:

    Hey.

I just got pulled over for not completly stopping at a stop sign.
I am 19, and i didnt have my licence on me.

i recived two tickets, one for the stop sign, and one for not having a licence on me.

few months ago i recived a speeding ticket(19 over) but it was in a different city(both in georgia)

what should i expect to happen in court? should i get a lawyer?

The stop sign is a 3 point ticket so you are not in danger of a suspension unless you continue to drive in a similar manner. You should have gone to court on the first ticket. An attorney is just up to you and really depends on how much your insurance will go up and whether you get anymore tickets.

welll, the fact i did actually stop will not make a difference because it is my word against the cop's.

i went to court for the speeding, and i made a "deal" that consists of 40hrs community service, no rec' driving, a fine, driving class, and a 2000 word essay on dangers of speeding.

im pretty sure i wasnt supposed to get any more tickets while completing it.

the speeding ticket was in a different city, would this make a difference?

For the not having your driver's license on you part, see:

    http://w3.lexis-nexis.com/hottopics/gacode/default.asp.

In there is referenced Georgia Statute 40-5-29, which you can read here:
    http://w3.lexis-nexis.com/hottopics/gacode/default.asp.

Basically, if you take with you to court your actual driver's license, and it was actually valid at the time of the stop, then you pay a $10.00 and can't be convicted of driving without a license.

is there any pont arguing at court about the stop sign?

what could a lawyer have it reduced to?

The court probably will not report the speeding so the fact it was in a different jurisdiction is to your advantage. You can try going to court to see what they will offer. You did OK the last time.

    Did you actually run it?

Unless the officer has a dashcam, or there's something in that area taking video of that stop sign proving you didn't run it, of it some witness comes up and says you didn't, it's an officer says/you say kind of thing on that.

While there might be something wrong with the ticket he wrote you which a lawyer could have thrown out of court, only a lawyer looking at your ticket will know that. So, I guess if you're really adamant about it, you can hire a lawyer. That can get expensive.

    So, that's up to you.

would a judge look the same at "did not come to a complete stop" as he would if it was "running a stop sign" ?
