Default Paternity Request
My question involves paternity law for the State of: Arizona

Potential Father lives in Austin, TX. Mother moved away about 6 weeks ago. Child was born in Flagstaff, AZ hospital about 2 weeks ago. Child was premature by about 4 weeks. Multiple birth complications. Child is now in Phoenix Children's Hospital. Father is distraught and does not know what to do. He would like to establish paternity but doesn't know how. Can he just ask the hospital? Does a lawyer have to file a motion? CPS opened a case against the mother but will not need to establish paternity unless they take the child. There is one other individual who may be the father but the basic blood typing didn't match. The father needs advice on how to establish paternity with the least complications and financing.

Default Re: Paternity Request
Many states have an administrative process for the father to voluntarily acknowledge paternity. Along with this the father may have to request that their name be added to the birth certificate. The State of Arizona should have some sort of website that explains what needs to be completed.
