Default Statute of Limitations in New York
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: New York

I know the SOL in NY is 6 years but from which date? This is show on my truecredit report:

Date Opened: 07/01/2003 07/2003
Date Reported: 09/22/2008 09/30/2008

I am thinking the "Date Opened" but i want to make sure

Thanks advance

From the date of last activity. In other words, from the date the last payment was made.

It's also usually a good idea to add six months to that date to be sure the SOL has passed.

No. The entry on your credit report is governed by a separate limitations period, for most purposes seven years. Your report probably lists the date the entry will drop off of your credit report.
