My question involves criminal records for the state of: California(Los Angeles)
In 1991, at the age of 15, I was arrested, along with my 15 year old cousin, for Grand Theft. We were released to our parents and no charges were ever filed. This arrest DOES show up on a California DOJ background check(LIVESCAN) that I requested but does not include a disposition.
Later that same year, now 16, I was arrested again this time for Receiving Stolen Property. I was convicted in Juvenile Court and sentenced to 30 days(approximately) in Juvenile Hall and received 1 year probation and had to pay restitution all of which I completed successfully. This record DOES NOT show up on the LIVESCAN.
My questions are these; Why does the one where there was no charges filed show up while the other does not? Does that mean there is no record? Is there another place that I can request a background check, like the FBI?
I am currently applying to multiple police agencies, both state and federal, and would like to give the background investigators any information they may need.
Thank you in advance for any help.JM
