My question involves business law in the state of: IL
We had a case of theft at work over the weekend. The company's hired accountant had taken all the W4's out to her car to do the quarter statements. She took all the W4's to her car and went back inside. While she was away from her unlocked car, someone stole the box that contained all the papers. I'm not sure if this accountant has her own company, is employed through a firm, or is just a licensed CPA. I'll find out more information tomorrow.
What i'm wondering is what course of action should the company i work for take, or should I take on my own?
