Back Child Support Owed

My ex-husband owes me back cild support that totals almost $2,400. We have been in and out of Court so many times in the last 6 to 8 months. He keeps using every excuse he can so he doesn't have to pay anything to me. He has gotten away with not paying me anything since July 2005. I am wondering how much longer it will take them before they him in jail. How much Child Support has to be in arrearages before the Courts actually do something about his non payments. I know they can suspend his license, or take his income tax away, but, what about jail time. He is not working right now, he quit his job so he didn't have to pay.

IF a judge agrees with you ( and issues a ruling with order)...that $2500 is owed...an arrearage...
the State revenue "IV-D" agency can enforce for you. JUst take the paper to them. They can pull his driver's license, garnish his unemployment and seize his tax refund in part or whole.....after these manuevers, if amounts keep going up, he may be jailed.

.. Yes, the Judge knows how much he owes me in back Child Support. It is court ordered through Domestic Relations, but, my ex husband still refuses to pay. He almost lost his license back in April, but, made a payment to me on the last day of that month, and it saved his butt. Then he made another payment to me, but not until July. Now, he hasn't made any payments to me at all since then. The judge has already ordered him to find more "gainful employment".. and he had to show DR that he was looking for another job. Well, he did show them exactly what they wanted, but, made no attemp to leave his present job to get a better one, and he made no attempt to pay me CS while looking for a better job. I am just wondering how many more times we will look at this same judge, and what he will tell him when we get into Court again in January.
