Default Is Abortion Able to Happen Without Both Parents' Consent?
ok so I hope I posted this on the right forum.

so me and a girl lived together for 4 months or 5 months. we broke up. she said the reason we broke up is because she got pregnant, and proceeded to have an abortion. I learned about this one month after we broke up. my question is, is this whole situation legal? can she just go and kill my unborn child without my consent? or is there anything I can do legally?

I live in Wisconsin.

Firstly, there is no need to use inflammatory terms like "kill a baby." (and how do you kill an unborn one?)

While the father contributes the seed the mother must carry the child and can terminate the pregnancy without the fathers consent. Roe v. Wade

In other words a 13 year girl can legally consent to an abortion but a 17 year old cannot consent to a cell phone agreement. What a system

If you want to debate the current abortion and/or cell phone laws, please take it to banter.

To the OP, the laws are clear. Until the child may live outside the womb, the care and disposition of that child is up to the mother.

Yes. You do not have a right to force her to not have an abortion any more than you have a right to force her to have an abortion.

The law gives her bodily autonomy.

Use condoms.

According to this chart, in WI, a minor must have at least 1 parent approval:

Sorry to confuse the issue, I was trying to stress the fact that a woman has complete power over that decision and to drive the point across I used the example of a young teen who couldn't even get a cellphone but could make a weighty decision like this on her own or with parental consent in some states. (boy that was one long sentence) I did not mean to imply the girl in question was a teen.

Not that it is applicable to this post but somebody got it started down this road.

Quote:
Wisconsin
  • Requires parental consent - one parent.
  • Allows minor to bypass parent by obtaining a court approval.
  • Allows minor to obtain consent from other relatives as an alternative to parents’ consent.
  • Allows abortion in medical emergency without parental consent.
  • Allows abortion in cases of abuse, assault, incest and neglect without parental consent.
