Question Resolving Warrants, Probation Violation Without Returning to the State

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California in 2005.

While in California I picked up drug charges, sentenced to Drug Court & left for Washington for a fresh start. While in Washington have completed a 2 year program, have stable housing, have enrolled in college, have sole custody of children, and need advise as to how I can resolve my problems in California. I am wondering if an attorny can represent me in court, if I were unable to leave Washington due to my schooling & need to care for children.

What about statue of limitations? Can it apply to my situation?

Default Re: Legal Representation While Out of State

The statute of limitations has no applicability. You were not only charged, you were convicted and sentenced. You can retain a lawyer in California to try to work out a deal for you, but you should expect that you'll end up having to go to California to face the music and be resentenced. Ideally your lawyer will be able to negotiate a resolution you find acceptable.
