Schedule for Independent Contractor

My question involves independent contractors in the state of: Florida


I am definitely an Independent Contractor for a Flight School. I am a flight instructor. Until this past month, we made our own schedule, got the goal done in the time-frame they wanted. Now, they have Implemented a schedule for each instructor to fly with a particular student at a certain time.

As an Independent Contractor, I thought I was entitled to my own schedule. Or that the company cannot dictate a certain percentage of my schedule. I was wondering where I can find a law that says this, or that could at least clarify my situation.e
