Default Statute of Limitations on Federal Debt
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California.

Does the state SOL apply if I owe the federal government a debt from a government issued credit card (Military Star) that has been charged off? Uncle Sam took my tax return and my stimulus check this year but if California SOL expires in October 2008, can they still take next year's tax return?

Default Re: Statute of Limitations on Federal Debt
I understand a ten year limitations period to apply, from the date of default, under the Debt Collection Improvement Act (DCIA) of 1996.
