Angry Late Paternity Test
My question involves paternity law for the State of: Florida
My son is 11 years old and his father wants a paternity test to find out if he's the father. At the time of birth he signed the paternity acknowledgment form at the hospital stating that he was the father. He has been on child support for the past 10 years and does'nt want to pay anymore. He is the only father that my child knows. Can the law force me to have a paternity test after 11 years?

No. Because he signed the AOP, and there is a court order for CS. He could have denied paternity and requested a DNA test at the time the CS order was issued, he didn't and now it is too late.

But I do not believe there is anything stopping the father from having DNA testing done on his own.

Most states won't allow the person who has acted as daddy, and behaved as daddy to give up their paternal obligations once they have been established. It is for the childrens' stability that these policies are in place.
