Question Michigan Assault Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan.

I have a personal protection order put out on me by my neighbor, although it is unfair. He put it out on me and then has continued to harass me and have his family and friends continue to drive by and flip us off, honk their horns, blare loud music at us, threaten us, etc. Eventually it has escaladed to the point where my neighbor spray painted a pink X in the road and on my yard, overlapping. I went over to check it out on my lawnmower and he attacked me with an axe, screaming at me. I was hit twice in the arms with the blunt side of the axe and sustained major bruises. I called the police and he was taken to jail for felonious assault.

When his trial was scheduled to happen it was waived because a murder trial was in the process, and that was two weeks ago. This man has family in the courthouse, and his uncle is in the sheriff department so everyone is extremely biased towards us. The police have told us they will not take our 911 calls, and that they have 'lost' a police report where I called because my neighbor had threatened my then 17 year old son. This has been going on for two years and started out over a land dispute. There is now a fence up built by my neighbor on our land and we are waiting for the court to decide the line, but in all three surveys done he is on our land so it will come down eventually. That's a little background on what's going on, but now I will make my point....

As I was coming home today on my motorcycle, I took a public road down to look at some deer. The road eventually turned into a private drive for my neighbor’s family. I turned around and left, and went to do some business at my parent’s house, and when I came home to turn on the road to my house my neighbor’s dad and brother were waiting for me. They ran out at me and I dodged the father, but the son hit my helmet when I was traveling at about 30 mph. The chinstrap crushed my larynx and I have a blood clot in my throat. I was aero med to a different hospital and when I talked to the state police all they had to say was "you shouldn't have went down that road"

Apparently the brother of my neighbor told the cop that he was trying to stop me in order to figure out why I went down their driveway. Now I am stuck with a hospital bill, and the kid who assaulted me in at my neighbor’s house yelling profanities and driving by threatening me. Is there any way I can take this to a higher court? I feel the law is unjust in my county! I think I should be able to sue the county too for this unjust treatment.

I forgot to note that I have video of my neighbor doing the felonious assault, and them yelling at me, and him driving in my driveway when I'm not home, and him yelling at my son telling him to come fight. What else do I need? This is going to result in my death! Please help!!
