Default Can Someone Demand a Paternity Test?
My question involves paternity law for the State of: Florida

I really hope someone can help me. I am a married woman and I made a really large mistake. I had a one night affair with a married/separated Man. I am now pregnant. I told my husband about my mistake and we are working things out. I also told him that I was pregnant. We are both thrilled and have told both of our families.

I got approached by the man I had the one night affair with and he knows about my pregnany and is DEMANDING I get a paternity test. I do not want this man part of my life. And yes, I know I should have thought about that before my mistake. I do not want to get a paternity test. I told him that I do not want to get one and he is demanding it so that he can know and so that HIS wife can know.

Please.. do I have any legal rights? Can he force me to take a test?

Default Re: Can Someone Demand a Paternity Test?
It would be best to get a good lawyer. There does seem to be a presumption in Fl. that a child born to an intact marriage are, indeed, the husband's child. But I would still talk to a good family attorney.

Good luck!
