Is There Reduced Rate Legal Aid

I'm currently seeking legal representation for an assault & battery in the State of California, but can't afford to hire an attorney. Do I have any other options for legal representation excluding a Public Defender? Do attorneys exist that offer reduced rates or costs for low income clients?

Call some law offices and see if you can find a lawyer who will work with you at a reduced rate. Don't be surprised if they suggest that you seek court-appointed representation.
