My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Colorado

My daughter lives with her father in Colorado. That is where the custody order is established. Long story short, she wants to move out of her fathers house soon after she turns 18. She wants to move in to her grandmothers house (maternal) so that she can finish high school with her friends. Is this legal? Can he stop her or have her arrested as a runaway? She is terrifed to do it but she has threatened to run away before. Hopefully I did not give her false hope telling her that she can leave when she's 18. Please help.

At 18 she is a legal adult and no longer answerable to dad. He can certainly call the police and say that she ran away, to which police will reply "yep, adults can do that".

On a side note, DO encourage her to remain in school - finishing high school is SO important.

Thank you! That is part of the deal....I will come out and help her move, get her a car and get her settled ....only if she stays in school. My other question is child support. I am ordered to pay until she is 19. No problem except that when she moves I would rather pay it to the person she will be living with rather than her father. Any thoughts on this?
