My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: FL
I moved into this house in January of '08. First it was the refrigerator, then the rats, then cabinets fell, and now the air conditioner. When I first called about the AC about a month ago, it was running just not blowing cold air. The AC man came out and sprayed freon in the line, ofcourse it leaked out. When I called again he said it was still leaking (no shit) and sprayed some no leak in the line which seemed to have worked. I got home yesterday and it was 97 degrees in the house. I call. AC man comes out, the entire AC unit has to be replaced. The compresssor overworked itself and got too hot and burntup the whole unit. Which I tried telling my landlord several times weeks ago. Is there anyway for me to get out of the lease? It is 12months. I can't stand it here anymore, this place is unliveable and the landlord obviously doesn't care. I already have other living arrangements ready, just don't want to be sued. What can I do? Someone please help.
