My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: New York
I recieved a ticket for what is decribed as "imprudent speed" however instead listing being in violation of 1180(a), the officer listed 1180-A which pertains to how speed limits are set. Also, I would imagine it is a minor thing, but my name was spelled incorrectly on the ticket in two places.
Additionally, I don't understand how a ticket for imprudent speed could be issued when it was a bright sunny day, insignificant traffic existed, and there were no nearby obstacles such as construction or an accident. Also, I asked the officer how fast I was going and he said "I don't know."
What is the best way to go about fighting this? Should this be brought to the attention of the prosecutor before a trial to try getting him to drop charges?
Thanks.
