Can Parents Charge Rent to Their Children Under Age 18?

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana

Is it legal for a parent to charge their child rent to live in their house when the child is under 18 years of age?

Is there any way for the child to leave before he/she turns 18 without getting into legal trouble?

Okay.. but what if he hates the household and doesn't want to live there?

(which would mean that he doesn't want to contribute to the household.)

and what if his parents emotionally and mentally abuse him?

If he refuses to pay rent, his parents can't kick him out. They are required, until he's eighteen, to provide a sparse few things for him, such as shelter, clothes, and (possibly, not sure if it's law) food and water. Past that, if he refuses to pay the rent, his parents can refuse him any luxuries, which means that they could pretty much put him to sleep on the floor in a closet with no air conditioning or any electronics/tv/etc. All they have to do is make sure he has one pair of clothes and enough food and water to stay alive.
