Exclamation Getting My Name on Daughter's Birth Certificate
My question involves paternity law for the State of: OHIO

I find myself more than a little frustrated with the state of Ohio with regards to my daughter. With all the talk about fathers trying to get out of being responsible, you would think they would jump when someone is trying to do the right thing.

A little background, My daughter is 18 months old, I have been trying to resolve this from day 1. Her mother, my fiancee, was seperated from her ex and living apart, but due to circumstances, they were still married. When my daughter was born, as we knew would happen, her ex was named on the birth certificate. We did a paternity test that claims admissibility in all 50 states, we made sure that the divorce degree states that she wasn't an issue of the marriage, we have sworn affidavits from her, myself and the ex stating that I am the father and that no one disputes this. Now the CSEA, whom I was told to go through by the family courts, it telling me that it's not enough and that they can't/won't help because she's not on and state aid.

I'm curious, short of going to court, which I am prepared to do, if there are any other options to get this resolved. I'm worried if something would happen to myself, or her mother what the state would do with my daughter.

Thanks in advance,
Josh

You will need to file a lawsuit with all parties involved being a part of the lawsuit.

You need to ask for a determination of paternity and also for the court to set your child support payments and visitation.
