Default Dropping Assault Charges
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nebraska

Our neighbors were having a party one night and one of the guests of the neighbor hit me. I called the police and they arrested him. Am I able to drop the charges or not?

Default Re: Dropping Assault Charges
You can tell the prosecution that you'd rather not pursue the case, but ultimately, they prosecute on behalf of ALL of society, not just you the victim, so they have complete discretion on whether or not to go forward with charges or not.
