My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Mississippi

Can a cop give me a ticket for a moving violation on private property? I ran a Stop sign, but he only ticketed me for not having my license on me (the license is valid). The court date is August 21st and I want to know what I can do. Feel free to email me: mickt@hotmail.com

He didn't give you a ticket for a moving violation, only for the license issue. If your real question is can he pull you over for running a stop sign in a parking lot, yes, he can, as a public safety caretaking function. I can't speak for Mississippi, as they may operate differently, but here in Florida police can't cite for "failure to obey a traffic control device" on private property (here, you can tell if you're in public domain or on private property because things like stop signs in the public domain have Dept. of Transportation numbers on the back of them). If your license was valid at the time of the incident in question, that might be the end of the matter once it goes to court, or you'll end up with a fine, but not points against your license as failure to produce the license is an administrative infraction as opposed to a "point-hit" one.
