Exclamation Can You Leave Home at 17?
My boyfriend is 17 and a half he will be 18 in 5 months can he leave home now? he cant stand his family they dont do anything bad to him but ignore him. they always forget to call him when its time to eat so he usually only eats a couple meals a day. and he has no friends where he lives. he is misserable and wants to come live with me. he is already graduated so he wouldnt have to worry about school but his mom wont let him leave because she wants him to get a job and go to college which he can do here but she doesnt think my family will help him get all the stuff he needs. my mom and dad and step mom all love him we take care of him and would do anything to help him his mom just doesnt understand and refuses to listen shes making him suffer and i can see him get more and more stressed and broken down about the whole situation every day. can he leagally leave at 17 with out her sending the cops after??

He can leave without permission when he is 18, not before.

At 17, he can leave only if he has his parents permission to do so.

My boyfriend is 17 and a half he will be 18 in 5 months can he leave home now?(He can wait 5 months) he cant stand his family(So does many teens read through these forums) they dont do anything bad to him but ignore him.(So!) they always forget to call him when its time to eat so he usually only eats a couple meals a day.(Hes 17 he can show up for dinner on time!) and he has no friends where he lives.(Thats his fault) he is misserable and wants to come live with me.(Theres a real shocker NOT!!) he is already graduated so he wouldnt have to worry about school but his mom wont let him leave because she wants him to get a job and go to college(Sounds like she has his best interest in mind) which he can do here but she doesnt think my family will help him get all the stuff he needs.(Reasonable concern) my mom and dad and step mom all love him we take care of him and would do anything to help him his mom just doesnt understand and refuses to listen shes making him suffer and i can see him get more and more stressed and broken down about the whole situation every day. can he leagally leave at 17 with out her sending the cops after??
