My question involves criminal law for the state of: NC

Hello,

I have an upcoming court date for a minor offense and I have no criminal record. I have been advised that I will likely get community service with the possibility to have the charge removed from my record once the community service is completed. My question is regarding the community service, assuming this is what is agreed to. I have become quite sick and am not mobile, and it would be difficult to complete community service outside the home. I was told that defendants often have some discretion regarding what type of community service they do. Are there any types of community service that could possibly be done for someone confined to the house or with limited mobility? I have access to telephone and internet...I am thinking some type of phone hotline or something...? Or, alternatively, I could offer to build a website for a local nonprofit or something...

If not, does anyone know what would happen if someone is physically unable to complete the community service?

Thanks,
Luke
