Default Texas Paternity Law
My son has a 4 y/o daughter born in Texas. His name is on the BC but there is doubt that he is the father. He was 17 when the baby was born. I would like to have a paternity test done. Can we force the mother to have the test done? If that proves that he is not the father would he have to continue paying child support since his name is on the BC?

Default DNA Testing
If he has parenting time, he can have a DNA test performed during a visit. It's just a cheek swab these days.

But he may well be stuck anyway. It depends primarily upon the laws of the state where he acknowledged his paternity.
