Stalking and Harassment

Background: My Sister and my two nephews, split from her husband nearly two years ago with a messy split. I won’t trouble you with details of suffice to say he was allowed access to the two children which we accepted. My Sisters Ex chose to take up residence in rented accommodation with his girlfriend within the same small village located close to my sister’s residence – the prior family home.

Now I come onto the problem as to which I would like advice.

Recently my sisters ex has contacted the police several times, making allegations that my sister has been stalking him and his new girlfriend around the village and local town and driving past his house several times a day. He has also today made the allegation my elderly parents (which are my main concern) – have been driving past his house on regular occasions “spying on him”.

All the above statements, I know to be untrue – could you advice as to the best course of action. Should a complaint be actioned with the police? Or should this be actioned further through a solicitor?
