    Default Price Tag Switching

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I stupidly switched tags for two shirts at target and went to the couter to pay for them. The lady there said that they were the wrong tags and i said that i did not want it anymore. The price difference was $6. My mom paid for everything else on her credit card and we left the store. I heard them talking about it and I am really worried about what is going to happen. They did not stop me or anything and they did not say anything to me either. Can they track me down using my moms credit card. I am 15 years old and am really worried that they will track me down. Do you think they can track me or will they not do anything because they did not talk to me about anything.

This is my first time so will i be going to jail for it?

If they were going to stop you they would have done then. The likihood they will pursue this now is very low. I do suspect you will be watched very closely if your seen in there again though

Yes they could but that is a very weak possibility

They will not waste their time for $6. You will be watched closely during your following trips to that Target.

Next time when you walk out the doors at Target (or WM) look up. You will see a black camera dome on the door frame. (with WM, they are little white plastic looking cameras on either the left or right side of the door jamb). So yea, they have you on camera and will be watching.
    Not worth my time...

can they still send me a civil demand even though they dont know my name. I know that they can track my moms credit card but they do not know who i am. I could be a nephew, friend or something like that. Right.

    Kid.

    Take a deep breath.

You skated away on this one. Someone took pity on you... probably because you are not exactly the thief with nerves of steel.

Don't do it again. This one is a mulligan. Nobody gets two.
