I have the question of if I even have a case.
to begin, the other party and I were friends at one time however based on things that were said to my children (aged 8 and 9), i decided to distance myself from this other person.It has came to my attention that this person is now going to the school where my children attend and making claims against my children in regards to sexual molesting of her children(aged 6,9, and 10). She even went as far as to call The Child Protection services in our community. I cooperated with the CPS caseworker and the allegations were unfounded and the case was closed. However she continues to go to the school my children attends and make these claims . She has also went to the extracirricular activites that my children attend and stated these same false rumors. My children are hearing the things that are being said and are extremely upset by them. It has cause them to lose friendships and want to withdrawl from the activities they enjoy. How can I put a stop to the slander of my children before it causes anymore damage to their character or emotional state? Is there a legal way to make this other person stop?I want nothing at all to do with this person and have taking all possible steps to do so however we live in a small town and our children attend the same school.She even placed her children in the same extracirricular activities so it is unlikely that we can avoid her completely.
