Default Personal Injury on Sea Doo Watercraft

i was injured last august on my boyfriends sea doo, i have had 3 surgeries, have lost most of my left patella and am still recovering and unable to work 6 months later. i probably wont be able to work for another 8-12 weeks. i had no health insurance at the time.

i have consulted several personal injury attorneys and they say that since i was the only driver and caused the accident myself, that i will have a very hard time going after his insurances personal injury portion of his insurance, only the medical portion. the medical tops out $5,000 and the personal injury at $500,000 which is really what i need.

the attorneys then go on to tell me that i would have to prove that he (my boyfriend) was somehow at fault to get it. the only option i have is to pretty much say he threw me the keys to use the vessel without any instructions or warnings and that i was unfamiliar with the vessel. well, pretty much all of that is true. i had only ridden this one sea doo a couple of times as he had only owned them for 2 months prior to the accident and i was not as familiar with its handeling manueverability as one of his other seadoos that i rode most often.

still, i have been refused from representation because the attorneys ive consulted with say i only have a 1% of winning such a case? any advice you can give me on even a different type of law suit approach?

    broke and hurt,

    n

    Default SeaDoo Injury Case

If there was no mechanical defect with the Sea-Doo, and you caused your accident through your own mistake in its operation, it is hard to make a claim. Claims are made on the basis of somebody else's liability, and severity of injury alone won't create a valid case.
